You will experience strong pelvic floor muscle contractions and some tingling during the procedure. It is not painful at all. Daily activities can be resumed immediately after the treatment.

Side effects in the treated area may include muscular pain, temporary muscle spasm, temporary joint or tendon pain, or redness on the skin. Think of when you have gone through an intense strength training session. You may be a bit sore after but this is just a sign of your muscles strengthening!

All muscles will lose tone over time and they must be maintained with exercise. We suggest a single follow-up treatment every 4 to 6 months to keep those muscles strong! It is possible that you could extend your results if you are diligent about doing daily at-home Kegel exercises, but it would be impossible to replicate the 12,500 Kegels in 28 minutes that you will receive through a single Emsella treatment. If you notice a symptom returning, it’s time for a maintenance session. Once you complete a full protocol with Lift, you will be part of our “Tight for Life” program and be able to book your single follow-up appointments at a discounted price.

There is no downtime for recovery after your Emsella session, and the treatment is virtually pain-free. Come in for your quick appointment, and then go about your day!

You should dress in comfortable, loose-fitting pants during treatment. There is no need to get undressed and nothing will be inserted or placed on or inside you during treatment. It is completely non-invasive and as Dawn says "it's not a terrible way to spend half an hour!"

Pregnancy, metal implants such as pacemakers, copper IUDs, electronic implants and bleeding disorders are contraindications for the BTL Emsella treatment. Booking in for an Emsella treatment requires a comprehensive consultation and any questions or concerns will be addressed during this 30-minute appointment.

It is recommended that you wait at least 4 months post-pregnancy to start your Emsella treatments. You must be cleared by your physician to start exercising again and have finished bleeding.
